You have tried everything you can think of, and now you are trying this.
I know how hard it can be. I have been there too, and I can help.
Life is hard and that is part of the reality that comes with being human. Sometimes there is a critical voice inside our head that keeps us from moving forward, and other times the world around us can be so oppressive that we simply feel stuck. When this happens, it can show up as depression, anxiety, stress, emotional highs and lows, substance use, relational problems, self-harm and so much more. Whether you are dealing with the difficulties of family or other relationships, the demands of work and school, or struggling with self-care, counseling can be a powerful way to get back on your feet.
I can help you discover the things that are keeping you stuck and strengthen the areas that will move you forward. If you would like, I can apply Biblical scriptures to enhance our work together. Along the way you can expect me to be empathic, relational and authentic because I firmly believe that who you are matters, and, who you are becoming matters.
Currently a graduate student in the Master of Counseling program at the Townsend Institute, Concordia University Irvine, I provide counseling services to clients at a reduced rate as part of my clinical internship. When working with clients, I draw knowledge from my educational studies which are centered around the latest research in human growth and development, my professional background as an elementary school teacher, my personal experience as a wife of 26 years and mom of 2 adult children, my recent work experience at a local residential treatment facility, as well as my own journey through (what I like to call) life recovery.
I work with individuals, teens, couples and families, and am happy to schedule a free phone consultation to answer any questions you may have and to see if I am a good fit.
