Working with clients and hearing about their lives is a privilege that I do not take lightly. I strive to foster therapy that is led by the client and founded on an honest relationship between counselor and client. My office is a space for clients to acknowledge who they are and if desired, determine goals that shape who they want to be. At the root of my relationship with clients is the understanding that we are a team working together to make improvements toward their individual goals. I bring my authentic self to each of my sessions and encourage my clients to do the same. My office is a space to cry, to be angry, to laugh, to be as you are. I take great care to create empathetic connections and, when appropriate, push my clients to think through other perspectives that nurture a deeper understanding of oneself and their environment.
My interest in counseling began at a young age and stems from my love for reading. As I learned about people through books, my curiosity continued to develop and I decided to pursue a career in mental health. Born and raised in Tucson, it was natural for me to complete my education at the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling. Throughout my schooling I was intentional about learning best practices for working with individuals and couples from a wide range of cultures and have continued to educate myself as my career progresses and the world changes.
I am a Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of Arizona and a National Certified Counselor offering in-person therapy and telehealth. My therapeutic style is based in Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and ACT perspectives and I have completed the first two levels of training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.”
I work with couples and individuals to tackle challenges and emphasize positive changes as defined by their goals. I have previously worked with individuals of all ages but specialize in individual clients aged 16 and up and adult couples.
