Massage Therapy

In conjunction with talk therapy and coaching, massage therapy is a great way to relax and relieve stress, tension, and pain. Massage therapy has been known to lower stress, decrease anxiety, and reduce irritability. Along with increasing serotonin and dopamine, the combination of these effects leads to a happier individual. It can also help improve overall physical health and well-being by increasing circulation, reducing fatigue, and improving range of motion. We provide the highest quality massage services that promote relaxation while aiding in healing. Our massage therapists are highly trained and experienced, and they can provide you with the massage therapy that is best for your specific needs.

Bobbie Madrid

I’ve been a Massage Therapist since 2009, when I graduated from Pima Community College with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Therapeutic Massage. I have previous experience working at a local Chiropractor’s office, mobile massage service, and spa. I believe SoulSpace’s integrative healing team approach is a great fit for me and I love that it addresses the body as a whole. I thoroughly enjoy strengthening the relationship between the mind, body, and spirit with massage and deep breathing.

The mind-body connection benefits from the mindfulness of massage by counteracting the harmful effects of anxiety and stress while improving quality of life and relaxation. My top focus is helping my clients heal and reach their health goals by working with everyday pain, long-term injuries, and built-up trauma. Each session is client-centered and tailored to meet their specific needs where I assess and devise a plan of treatment.

The many benefits of massage include a decrease in anxiety, stress, grief, and pain; with an increase in energy, concentration, range of motion, mobility, and flexibility. Improved posture, immunity, circulation, and the stimulation of fluid movement such as the lymphatic system are also benefited through the application of massage. Touch is vital in the body’s physical and emotional healing. Touch benefits every system in the human body and every living being.

I have been trained in many massage modalities including:

  • Swedish/Relaxation,

  • Trigger Point,

  • Deep Tissue,

  • Gua Sha,

  • Prenatal,

  • Reflexology

  • Hot Stone Massage

I update my knowledge and growth with continuing education classes on a yearly basis in order to serve more clients and stay up to date on new ways of healing and treatment while providing a sense of trust and security. I look forward to working with you and helping you heal!

Shaina Reks

As a massage therapist, I’m deeply passionate about promoting holistic wellness and facilitating healing experiences. My journey into integrated wellness began with my own struggles with anxiety. Rather than merely masking symptoms, I was determined to uncover the underlying causes and address them holistically. This personal quest ignited my passion for understanding the intricate connection between the mind and body.

With each client, I bring not only my technical knowledge in massage therapy, but also a compassionate understanding of their individual experiences. I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore the connection between their physical and emotional well-being. By integrating various modalities, I am to empower clients to reconnect with their innate healing abilities.

My approach to massage therapy goes beyond relaxation; it’s about fostering profound shifts in both physical and emotional health. My goal is to support you in releasing physical tension, soothing emotional distress and restoring a sense of well-being to your life. Together, we’ll embark on a journey of self discovery, unraveling the layers of tension and discomfort to reveal a more vibrant and balanced you.

I’m truly honored to walk alongside you on your path to wellness, and I look forward to being a supportive partner in your healing journey.

Massage therapy supports

Anxiety: Massage therapy offers a soothing remedy for anxiety, providing a serene environment that fosters relaxation. The gentle, rhythmic touch helps lower cortisol levels, a stress hormone, and increases serotonin and dopamine levels, promoting a sense of calm and well-being. This therapeutic approach can significantly reduce symptoms of anxiety by easing tension, improving sleep, and enhancing overall mood.

Digestive Disorders: Massage can be a complementary treatment for various digestive issues. By applying techniques that increase abdominal circulation and relax abdominal muscles, massage can alleviate symptoms like bloating, constipation, and abdominal spasms. It also helps in stress reduction, which is often a contributing factor to digestive problems.

Fibromyalgia: Fibromyalgia sufferers can benefit from massage therapy, which addresses the chronic pain and stiffness associated with the condition. Regular massage sessions can lead to improvements in sleep, reduced pain points, and enhanced circulation, providing relief and improving the quality of life for those with fibromyalgia.

Insomnia Related to Stress: Massage therapy can be an effective treatment for stress-related insomnia. By promoting relaxation and reducing stress hormones, massage helps to regulate sleep patterns, leading to more restful and uninterrupted sleep.

Low Back Pain: Low back pain, a common ailment, can be effectively managed with massage therapy. Techniques that target the lower back muscles can reduce pain, increase mobility, and improve spinal alignment, offering a non-invasive solution to chronic back pain.

Myofascial Pain Syndrome: Massage therapy can be particularly beneficial for those with myofascial pain syndrome, focusing on releasing tension in the myofascial tissues. This helps alleviate pain and restore motion by easing the tightness in the trigger points.

Nerve Pain: For those experiencing nerve pain, massage can provide relief by reducing inflammation and pressure on nerves. Carefully applied techniques can enhance circulation and reduce muscle spasms that might be contributing to nerve pain.

Soft Tissue Strains or Injuries: Massage therapy is a valuable tool in treating soft tissue strains or injuries. By enhancing blood flow to the affected area, massage accelerates the healing process, reduces inflammation, and alleviates pain.

Headaches: For those experiencing tension headaches or migraines, massage therapy can be a powerful tool. By focusing on the head, neck, and shoulders, massage can alleviate muscle tension and improve blood flow, reducing headache frequency and intensity.

Sports Injuries: Athletes with sports injuries can find relief and quicker recovery through massage therapy. Tailored to specific sports-related injuries, massage can reduce recovery time, prevent stiffness, and improve flexibility.

Temporomandibular Joint Pain: TMJ disorders can cause significant discomfort, and massage therapy can offer relief. Techniques focusing on the jaw and related muscles can reduce joint pain, ease muscle tension, and improve jaw movement.

Upper Back and Neck Pain: Massage therapy effectively addresses upper back and neck pain, common in individuals with sedentary lifestyles or those who perform repetitive tasks. By targeting the muscles in these areas, massage can reduce tension, alleviate pain, and improve posture.
