Meet Our Team
Emily Ghusson (she/her/hers)
I was studying for my Master’s in Counseling at the University of Arizona when I first heard the term unconditional positive regard. Since then, it has guided me in everything I do in my practice as a counselor. It means to embody complete support, care, and acceptance for a person without conditions. This allows clients to experience the safety to be themselves and speak openly, without fear of rejection or judgment. I truly believe we are all doing the best we can with the tools and capacity we have at the time. While neither you nor I can magically eliminate the challenges you are experiencing, we can work together to strengthen your tools and increase your capacity. I would love to work with you to increase self-awareness and self-compassion while making positive changes in your life that will leave you feeling happiness and peace.
I am a Licensed Associate Counselor and utilize a variety of modalities in my work– my therapeutic approach is client-led. I am finding joy in working with a wide age range of clients! I love to support individuals as they explore their identities, and engage in the challenging pursuit of growth and finding purpose. I can support folks with perfectionism, stress, anxiety, or depression. I can help individuals who feel they are struggling in their relationships, exploring relationship difficulties, communication, and attachment. I enjoy working with children and teens to build self-awareness, emotional understanding, relationship skills, and self-esteem. Maybe you are going through a challenging time, enduring a big change, or have experienced a loss. Maybe you are finding it difficult to understand or manage your emotions. It would be an honor to travel beside you as you experience becoming who you are, and support you as you move toward who you want to be.
Authenticity is my jam! Adults and kids alike sense it and respond to it. I strive to always be my authentic self and create space for my clients to comfortably do the same. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, family, and niece and nephews. I have two dogs who are my shadows—we love hiking and traveling together. I also love yoga, walking, baking (not cooking!), live music, and being outside as much as I possibly can. The outdoors is where I feel most grounded and where my thoughts slow down. For that reason, I love to incorporate movement and nature into my work and am happy to offer walk & talk therapy to any client.
If some of my words resonate with you, please reach out and schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me! I’d love to hear more about you or your child/teen, and where you may need some support.
