Meet Our Team

Ursula Roach (they/them)

My path to becoming a counselor began through my work as an elementary
school teacher. For nearly ten years I worked in traditional and
montessori schools. As much as I loved being a teacher, I realized
that being a counselor could distill the parts of teaching that I
cherish most while emphasizing the healing that I want to prioritize
in my work. This has been true for me every moment since becoming a
counselor.

As a counselor, I like to think about healing as the process of coming
home to ourselves through getting in touch with our values, needs, and
by honoring our pasts. Central to my approach is the belief that
therapy can clarify how our pasts influence our present experiences
while providing us with the tools to shape our futures.

I offer counseling to children, adolescents, and adults from diverse
backgrounds who are excited to learn more about their values and
increase their coping skills. My work is responsive to childhood
experiences, trauma, ADHD, family stress, the family system,
interpersonal dynamics, and relationships, informed by attachment and
existential-humanistic theories. I'm humbled by the opportunity to be
an advocate and a collaborator on your child's, your family's, or your
own healing and learning journey.

I attended Prescott College and received my Masters of Science in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor
(LAC), and I'm certified in emotionally focused therapy (EFT). I also
have training and experience in acceptance and commitment therapy
(ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and sand tray
therapy. I strive to be trauma-informed and an ally to the BIPOC and
LGBTQIA+ communities. I believe whole-heartedly in people’s ability to
heal, learn, and grow.

When I’m not at the office, I enjoy trail running, sewing,
printmaking, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and reading fiction.
