Meet Our Team

Katie Neuschwanger (she/her/hers)

Do you have a child who is struggling to understand and or control their emotions and sometimes becomes overwhelmed by all of it?  Maybe they lash out physically or shut down, say hurtful things, or become so dysregulated they can’t enjoy themselves? Does your child have worries or concerns that are limiting their ability to enjoy day-to-day activities? Maybe life events are extra challenging right now?

Are you at a crossroads and trying to find your way, seeking a safe space to identify your desires and needs?  Rediscovering who you are and what your passions are?

I have over twenty years of experience working with children, young adults, and families trying to navigate obstacles and or events that are impacting their ability to obtain their goals, create the daily life they want, all while developing new skills and strengthening others.  I come from a strength-based position, firmly believing we all do the best we can in every moment we have.   I will walk beside you on this journey supporting and encouraging you as we move towards self-discovery, skill development, and renewed hope.  I have extensive experience working with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, divorce, family change, and am a strong advocate for the LGBTQ-IA community.

I believe our ability to effectively communicate our feelings, needs, and wants is at the core of most struggling relationships no matter what our age. Through a person-centered approach, I tailor each session to meet the client’s needs. I utilize mindfulness techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, bibliotherapy, and art and play-based activities. We will work together to reach the goals you have set for your wellness destination.

I attended the University of Nevada, Reno for my undergrad in Criminal Justice and certificate in addictions counseling and Oregon State University for my Masters in Counseling with a combined emphasis in school counseling and community counseling.  I am a Licensed Associate Counselor, newer to this sunshine state as I was born and raised in Oregon. Outside of being a therapist, I am the mom of two adult boys and two rescue pit bulls.  Exercise, movement, and connecting with friends and family are important parts of my daily wellness routine.

I would be honored to walk this wellness journey with you.  Please reach out if you think we might be a good fit for each other to transform your current experiences into the future you desire.
